Administrative Assistant Smith leaving The Colonies after being a valued employee since starting at 19 years old and serving the community for over 25 years is a true loss to all in The Colonies community. Many have only focused on the harrassment she has allegedly endured but has anyone thought of the other suffering she has endured all these years?
- Working in a smoke-filled office which could undoubtedly (and hopefully not) lead to her having health issues later due to second-hand smoke exposure she has been forced to withstand (Smith admittedly was a smoker at one time)
- A workplace environment and a Supervisor she has had for the majority of her employment who limited her abilities to develop any advanced skill sets
Many people have witnessed her being abused by her colleagues (the Cinderella of the office). Anytime people have told me of issues they were going to be calling the office to get addressed, I have told them specifically to talk to Smith as she is the only one who knows The Colonies inside and out, pleasant to talk to, actually laughs and gets things done.
Having recently learned of her commuting from Woodbridge... a long commute in these times of escalating fuel prices too, I wish her luck and truly hope she knows she has been valued and will be missed.
